An emblematic fruit of autumn, chestnuts can be enjoyed in many ways. For us, classic roasted chestnuts are without a doubt the best solution.
But if there is one thing that is really annoying about chestnuts, it is that they are very difficult to peel, especially after being cooked in the oven and therefore very hot.
Knowing the right tricks will make this task much easier. Below we offer you the most effective ones, which will allow you to enjoy chestnuts without complications and without altering their flavor and nutritional qualities.
The most traditional (and also the most effective) method is that of our grandmothers. To put it into practice, we only need a pot and a knife.
Make a cut in each chestnut to make it easier to remove the skin. Then, put some water to boil in a saucepan and once it comes to a boil, turn off the heat and pour in the chestnuts.
Wait about two or three minutes, then remove them and drain them well in a colander. Let them cool under cold water and immediately after you can start peeling them.
