Cornstarch, or corn starch, is used to prepare many dishes, such as biscuits , cakes, cheeses and much more. But few people know that this powerful natural ingredient is also very useful for cleaning windows , and we will explain why below.
Cornstarch (or corn starch) based window cleaner ingredients :
2 tablespoons cornstarch
120 ml of water
120 ml of white vinegar
the juice of 1 lemon
bottle with spray diffuser
microfiber cloth
Step by step guide
The first thing to do is put the 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, the water, the vinegar and the lemon juice in the bottle and shake it well.
Once the ingredients are integrated and a homogeneous solution is obtained, the cleaner is ready to use.
Wipe the glass with a microfiber cloth to remove surface dirt
Spray the solution over the entire surface of the glass, and clean with the microfiber cloth
Use circular motions, you can also use newspaper or a sponge
Remember that cleaning the windows frequently will make the operation much easier and faster.
Other Uses of Cornstarch for Household Cleaning
Cornstarch is very useful in many other occasions, and we list the main ones below.
To clean wood furniture : Dampen a microfiber cloth with water and sprinkle a little cornstarch on it. This will help to thoroughly clean the wood surface and polish it.
To remove bad odors from shoes : Simply put a spoonful of cornstarch in each shoe and let it sit overnight to eliminate bad odors. The next morning, remove the cornstarch before putting on your shoes. Cornstarch helps absorb moisture and eliminate bad odors.
To iron clothes : For this tip, simply add a tablespoon of cornstarch to 250ml of water and spray the solution onto your clothes as they are ironed.
To remove stains from clothes : pour a little cornstarch on the stain and leave it for a few minutes, this will help absorb the dirt. Finally, rinse thoroughly with water.
