With this method, recommended by nurserymen, you can keep your orchids alive and well. To do this, you’ll need an empty, clear plastic bottle, preferably one that allows ample light to reach the roots of your orchid plant.
Next, remove the label and take a cutter. Use it to divide the bottle into two equal parts. The corked part will be used to care for the orchid. Once this is done, you should light a candle to heat the metal tip of an object such as a knife.
This will help you create holes in the bottle, especially on the top of the half-bottle and around the base. Then take some pieces of charcoal and place them in the bottom of the plastic bottle.
Next, run a hot iron around the outside of the top half of the bottle to make it more flexible. Then turn the bottle over and fill it a second time with charcoal pieces to help it retain moisture.
Finally, place the orchid on the charcoal base and slide a stick to secure it to the plant to stabilize it. Then simply hang the DIY vase using hooks and water everything.
