Even if we wash our floors every day to keep them clean, floor grout can become dirty over time. When they turn black, a specific intervention is necessary, not just a simple washing, because the dust trapped in the grout remains trapped.
If this happens to you too, don’t worry, there are ideal solutions to make them look like new!
Baking soda
Baking soda has a very strong abrasive action and will degrease even the most hidden dirt in no time!
Simply create a thick paste by mixing 2 tablespoons of baking soda with water until smooth.
Put this paste on a large brush and rub vigorously between the joints, then rinse well and wash the floor.
Marseille soap
Another ingredient just as effective as baking soda is Marseille soap!
To use it, moisten the soap, rub it on the brush so that it adheres to the bristles, and then proceed to wash the joints.
If you have liquid Marseille soap, you will need to put it directly on the brush and proceed as described above.
Cornstarch
It may seem unusual, but cornstarch, generally used in cooking, is also very effective for various household tasks!
Using it for tile joints can be a great solution to use later.
You will need to create a paste by mixing about 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with a little water.
Always use a small brush to clean tile joints and rinse well to remove all residue.
White vinegar
Among the various natural methods, white vinegar is a must!
You need to mix equal parts vinegar and water, the amount depending on the tile grout you want to clean. Then, transfer the mixture to a spray bottle.
Spray generously on the joints, leave to act for a few minutes, then rub and rinse.
Hydrogen peroxide
The last tip involves an ingredient to be used in the case of particularly dirty joints and only on white floors!
In fact, for this trick, there is hydrogen peroxide which has a great whitening property and will solve the dirt problem in no time.
You can use it directly on the brush to scrub the tile joints, or combine 1 tablespoon of water with 1 tablespoon of baking soda and you will get a perfect natural detergent!
Caution! I remind you that hydrogen peroxide should not be used on marble and natural stone.
