The balcony is an extremely important part of our homes and of each of us. However, just like the interior of our homes, the balcony tends to get dirty all the time.
In fact, the amount of dirt that accumulates on the balcony is much greater because it is exposed to external factors and therefore comes into direct contact with dust, debris and rain.
But did you know that you can wash your balcony with rainwater?
Well, yes! As absurd as it may sound, you will now look forward to the rain so you can have a naturally clean balcony!
Let’s see how! NB This remedy is only valid in case of heavy rain.
The rain dance!
To clean your balcony using rainwater, we offer two remedies.
The first is to use DIY detergent, while the second is to use baking soda.
Dishwasher detergent
If you’ve just checked the weather forecast and it’s predicting heavy rain, it’s time to get everything you need ready to wash your balcony!
Wet the floor and pour a little homemade dish soap over the various parts of the balcony. Then take a broom and scrub vigorously to thoroughly soap and degrease.
If you don’t want to leave a lot of foam on your floor, wipe with a dry cloth or mop and remove the excess foam.
At this point, wait for it to rain and let the rainwater thoroughly clean the balcony and rinse off all the detergent.
You will notice that your balcony will be cleaner than ever!
Bicarbonate of soda
The second method is to use baking soda. This natural ingredient is well known for its degreasing properties and mild abrasiveness. So, in anticipation of rain, wet your balcony or terrace and sprinkle the floor generously with baking soda.
For an even more effective degreasing effect, you can also add salt. Then scrub with a brush to remove all traces of dirt.
Finally, wait for the rain to finish your work.
The rain will rinse everything off naturally, ensuring not only optimal cleaning but also considerable water savings.
If you still notice baking soda residue after rain, rinse with a mixture of water and vinegar.
