On Aluminum Foil and Television, the sequel is unpredictable: maybe you don’t expect it
Using aluminum foil in your TV, you can create a fully functional antenna. By following these simple steps, you can make it yourself. Here’s how.
Aluminum foil in the TV
The television is an electronic instrument used to receive and display audiovisual signals . These audiovisual signals are then projected onto the screen. It is a device through which entertainment and information are offered to citizens. Movies, news, television programs and much more. Compared to many years ago, television has undergone many transformations , both in its form and audiovisual quality. The progress has been notable and today we have highly technological and efficient tools.
A few years ago, the aesthetics of TVs were very different from today: large, massive screens with limited video quality. Now we have LCD, OLED, QLED flat screens with very high resolution in 4K or 8K . Despite the huge leap in quality, problems can arise regardless of the model of our TV and regardless of the amount we spent on it. In fact, the most common problems do not come from the TV but from its antenna . Let’s find out together how an antenna works and how to solve all the problems by creating one yourself. All you need is aluminum foil and copper !
TV antenna: a technology that is by no means infallible
The TV antenna is a fundamentally important instrument . It is a device designed to receive television signals. These signals are transmitted via pulses that propagate through the air and therefore do not require a cable connection. The antennas capture all the radio waves carrying audiovisual signals that will be translated into sounds and images on the screen. There are many types of antennas in circulation, from digital to internal, from parabolic to dipole.
Parable
Modern technology has made it possible to change transmission from analog to digital. With this transformation, many antennas have begun to receive digital terrestrial television signals. However, the choice of antenna depends primarily on your geographic location and the quality of the signal available in the area.
When it comes to the most common type of satellite dish, we can say that very often there are significant reception problems. The signal, in particular weather conditions, can become weak or completely absent. To solve this problem, we offer you a very simple , free and intuitive solution. Creating an antenna using aluminum foil ensures that you receive strong and consistent television signals. Here’s how to do it.
All the steps to bring your own aluminum antenna to life
You are on vacation and you don’t have your latest generation TV at your disposal, your favorite movie or TV program is about to start and the TV is not receiving any type of signal. What to do? The solution is very simple and within reach. All you need is a TV cable and aluminum foil . The first step is to extract all the copper wire inside the cable. This is a few centimeters of copper that must then be shaped using pliers.

After giving a circular shape to the first copper wire, we do the same with a shorter wire, creating a smaller circle. We will have to connect the two circles using smaller copper wires, until our structure resembles a real satellite dish . Remember to create the “tail” of the dish with a copper wire. Once this is done, we can use a sheet of aluminum foil: this will be used to cover our structure. We just have to connect the tail of our satellite dish to the cable connected to the TV: the signal will be very strong and all the channels will be clearly visible and at our disposal.
