Summer temperatures are making you suffer, but so are your bills. That’s why no one wants to use air conditioners and fans anymore.
Fresh house
The arrival of summer brings with it higher temperatures . Many cannot stand them, and that’s where the air conditioner comes in. However, it is an appliance that consumes a lot of energy, and for this reason, some Italian families prefer not to turn it on, given that the bills have been higher than usual for some time now.
Air conditioning consumption should not be underestimated, but it varies depending on usage . In fact, you should calculate how many hours you keep it on. By turning it on for 8 hours a day, you can spend between 60 and 240 euros per month. The amount varies depending on your energy contract.
Conditioner
This is why many people prefer to choose alternatives to using air conditioning. Even if it’s very hot, many people prefer a fan . Of course, it also runs on electricity, but the price is significantly lower than that of an air conditioner.
It must be said, however, that the fan does not generate cold air and does not provide the same relief as the air conditioner. With a little ingenuity, however, you can achieve better results even with the fan, but above all, by spending very little. You will simply need a few bottles of water. Let’s see together below in the next paragraph.
How to Create a DIY Air Conditioner at Home
As we said, the fan does not generate cold air and therefore the consumption will be lower but you will not have the relief of cool air. In fact, the hot air will still circulate in the house because the fan only serves to move it. However, there is a way to create a DIY air conditioner using a fan and water bottles .
Fan
All you have to do is take the plastic bottles and fill them with water. You will need 3 of them. To each of them, you will need to add 3 teaspoons of table salt . Mix well and maybe even shake to combine the two ingredients. Now, put the bottles in the freezer.
You will need to wait for the water to completely freeze. This can take about 2 hours or more with a freezer at -18°C. Once they are ready, you can proceed by creating your own DIY air conditioner. Simply attach the ventilation and place the bottles about 15 cm from the fan .
Frozen bottles
This way, the air circulating in the frozen bottles will be cooler . This is due to the use of salt. This is actually the ingredient that cannot be missing because it allows the fan to work this way. The reason is much simpler than you think.
Salt lowers the temperature of the ice . This way, the air moved by the fan will be cooler. The only drawback you might encounter is that it will take longer to freeze the air bottle. On the other hand, it will not dissolve quickly. Also, it is better to always have a spare, not just 3.
