Gardening has been gaining popularity for some time now, prompting many people to dare to have their own green spaces inside their homes. Today, we explain how, in a few simple steps, you can enjoy your pineapples.

Pineapple comes from the Bromeliad family, native to Central America and Mexico. An important fact is that pineapple must be grown in a tropical environment. It is characterized by helping you lose weight, fighting anemia, aiding digestion, promoting iron absorption, and being good for nails, skin, and hair.

Although from its origin you might think that it will be a complicated process, it is not, with a few simple tips you will soon have your pineapples at home without spending a fortune.

Tips for successful potted pineapple
You should first consider these criteria when choosing which pineapple to plant:

If the pineapple you choose is fresh, make sure the crown is green, with no brown or yellow spots.
The fruit you choose to grow must be ripe.
Even though we said it must be a ripe fruit, make sure it is not too hard, otherwise it will be difficult for it to bear fruit.
Please note: if the leaves of the pineapple crown come out very easily, it is already ripe and you will not need them for planting.
How do I plant my pineapple?

To begin, once you have chosen the pineapple that meets the above characteristics, hold the pineapple in one hand and the crown in the other, grasp the base of the leaves and, with gentle lateral movements, detach the leaves from the fruit. Or cut the leaves if you think this is a faster option.
Carefully remove some of the lower leaves from the crown, which is near the base so that the stem is exposed and easier to sprout. Once this is done, you will need to let it dry for about a week.
In a large plastic container, submerge the stem, trying not to submerge the leaves.
We will place wooden sticks in the shape of a cross at the base of the crown and immerse the stem in the container containing water.
Leave it in a place where it receives moderate sunlight.
Change the water once a day to prevent foam from coming out
Once the process is complete, you will be ready to transfer it to earth.
Recommendations:
If you plan to plant your pineapple, try preparing the soil a month beforehand by adding calcareous soil; for sowing, drill holes measuring 90 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm. Also add organic fertilizer for better growth and place the pineapple leaves vertically.

With dedication and following the recommendations, you will soon be able to grow your own pineapples so you can enjoy them at home without having to spend money buying them at the market or supermarket.
