Foolproof tips for removing limescale from shower glass and making it shine

The bathroom is one of the environments that tends to get dirty more quickly, due to the bacteria that it accumulates, the soap that sticks to the tiles and the drops of water that, when drying, leave the annoying limescale stains that make the glass of the shower opaque .

Water contains calcium, but also other minerals such as iron which, when in contact with air, rusts, creating stains that, over time, become increasingly difficult to remove .

There are many products designed to descale glass , but almost all of them contain toxic ingredients that can cause eye, skin or respiratory irritation. The ideal is to open the bathroom windows to let the air circulate, or to resort to natural, cheap and harmless ingredients for our health.

Water and white vinegar
You need:

250ml of water
250 ml of white vinegar
the juice of a lemon
Pour all the ingredients into a spray bottle, shake well and spray on the glass of the shower door. Leave to act for 10 minutes, then use a sponge to clean thoroughly and remove limescale.

Then pour water over the glass to rinse, then wipe with a clean cloth and make a final pass with newspaper to polish the glass.

White vinegar and baking soda
Heat about 250 ml of water, then pour into a spray bottle, add two tablespoons of white vinegar and two of baking soda.

Spray the solution all over the shower glass and leave it for 15 minutes, then scrub well with a sponge to remove all the limescale.

Finally, dry well with a microfiber cloth. Apply this technique at least once a week.

Water sandpaper
This product is used by body shops to refine car paints. It is abrasive paper, similar to sandpaper, but with water. Be careful to buy the right product so as not to scratch the shower glass.

Pour water onto the shower glass using a spray bottle, then sand with water. The limescale will come off immediately. Then dry it with a clean cloth.

Of the three tips for cleaning shower glass , the last one is definitely our favorite because it is the most effective and quickest to put into practice. But remember to make sure you buy wet sandpaper to avoid making a mess.
