If you want to surround yourself with this wonderful plant, you should know that you can create it endlessly with the twig trick. What is it? Well, to have several geranium plants, it is necessary to take part of an existing one and create cuttings . Get some jars and the materials indicated below:

a ripe geranium
small plastic pots
sand
knife or scissors
seed substrate
rooting hormone (optional)
At this point, it is necessary to choose the twigs that will soon give life to the new geranium plants. Prefer the thickest and healthiest, cutting the chosen branch under the second axil. Then, observing it carefully, remove all the leaves that are in the lower half of the cutting and finally cut the stem below the first node .

This method of cutting the cutting is important because the rooting hormones of the geranium are concentrated in this area.

If you wish, you can also add the rooting powder to the base of the cutting before planting the branch, to give a better chance of forming a robust root system.

The choice of soil for planting the cutting is also very important. It should consist of a mixture of seedling substrate and sand.

Place the mixture in the vase and insert two or three cuttings , water thoroughly and place it in a bright place. Do not cover the cuttings with plastic, as they may develop dangerous mold.

A few weeks later you will find the first roots and in about 6-8 weeks a root system will have formed so robust that it will allow the cuttings to be transplanted into another pot with normal soil.
