How to clean and perfume your sofa with baking soda

We spend a lot of time on the couch, so it’s normal for all kinds of stains to form on it: from drinks to food, from sweat to makeup, not to mention pets. Couches get dirty easily, but luckily, they’re also easy to clean.

In this article, we explain how to clean your fabric sofa or armchair with a simple natural ingredient: baking soda. You will learn how to clean and disinfect the sofa without using chemicals, which can be harmful to your health.

Baking soda is one of the best allies for household cleaning. It has slightly abrasive properties, but which do not damage practically any type of surface.

Baking soda and Marseille soap

To clean the sofa with these two ingredients, simply mix 1 teaspoon of Marseille soap and 1 teaspoon of baking soda in half a liter of water.

Dampen a sponge in the solution and rub directly onto the stains on the sofa. Be careful not to use too much water.

Wipe with a dry microfiber cloth to remove residue, then wait for it to dry completely.

Baking soda and vinegar

Mix one tablespoon of baking soda and 250 ml of vinegar in one litre of water, mix well then use a cloth to wipe the stains using the solution.

Rub the solution all over the couch to prevent further staining. Wait several hours for it to dry completely.
