on How to Polish Marble Chips
Marble gravel floors have been very popular in Italy in recent decades. They were very common in our grandmothers’ homes, as they represented a cheaper alternative to other types of materials.
Although they have gone out of fashion, marble chip floors are still present in our homes, and retain a great charm , especially when they are original and old.
Not to mention that marble chips are also very resistant to knocks and wear. Our grandparents were right to prefer it.
The only downside to this type of flooring is that it tends to lose its classic shine . But fear not: it is possible to deep clean and polish marble chip floors with all-natural ingredients .
Below we offer you two effective remedies to have very shiny marble chip floors , as if they were new.
Natural detergent
Baking soda is abrasive enough to remove dirt without scratching the floor. By mixing it with alcohol and Marseille soap, you get a perfect detergent for marble aggregate floors.
Mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda with 10 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol and 1 tablespoon of liquid castile soap.
Once you have a homogeneous mixture, dip a cloth in it and wipe it all over the floor. After about 5 minutes, rinse with a cloth soaked in warm water and wrung out well.
Repeat the application several times until you obtain a completely shiny floor.
Use only denatured alcohol
This remedy is as simple as it is effective. Simply pour 5 tablespoons of denatured alcohol into a bucket filled with warm water and use the solution to clean the floor normally.
No need to rinse.
