The quickest trick to remove labels from jars

Many of us like to keep glass, steel or plastic jars so that we can reuse them in the kitchen or other areas. Unfortunately, most of these jars have labels stuck with glue that are very difficult to remove.

In this article, we will show you some simple tips to remove labels from glass jars and much more. These are simple tips to put into practice and with very fast results.

white vinegar

Fill the sink or a large container with hot water. Add 250 ml of vinegar, then immerse the pots of any material, remembering to remove the cap. Wait about 30 minutes before removing them from the solution.

Vinegar is acidic and will dissolve the glue allowing the label to be removed.

Sodium bicarbonate

Fill the sink with hot water, enough to completely submerge the labeled part of the pot. Add 90 grams of baking soda and mix well to dissolve.

Open the jar and soak it in water for 30 minutes. The baking soda will also make it easy to remove the label, which should leave no glue residue behind. If there is any residue left, use a small amount of baking soda to thoroughly scrub and remove it.

Acetone

Try removing the label from the dry jar. Then apply some acetone to a cloth and rub the remains of the label. The acetone will help remove any glue and paper residue stuck to the jar. Do not use this method on plastic jars.

Oil and baking soda

Remove the label from the dry jar. Mix two equal parts baking soda and cooking oil. Apply the solution to the paper towels, then to the glue and paper residue on the jar. Wait 10 to 30 minutes, the oil will penetrate the glue residue and dissolve it.
