Chefs use a trick that allows them to preserve parsley for more than thirty days. Let’s see what it is.

PARSLEY: USED IN COOKING

Parsley is a widely used aromatic herb in cooking. It has a distinctive flavor and various  beneficial properties  . It is used to add a touch of freshness and aroma to dishes and is used in various gastronomic preparations in many culinary cultures.

Used primarily to  flavor and flavor  various recipes, such as soups, sauces, salads, meat gravies, and many other dishes, parsley adds a fresh, herby flavor that can enhance the overall taste of food.

Additionally, the leaves are often used as  a garnish  to enhance the presentation of dishes, adding color and a touch of elegance. Rich in essential vitamins and minerals, parsley is a good source of vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin A, iron, and folic acid. It is also rich in antioxidants and has diuretic properties.

Not to mention, the herb contains plant compounds that may have  anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects  . Some research suggests that eating parsley may help improve digestion, promote heart health, and aid in weight loss.

That’s why a good supply of parsley  should never be missing  from our kitchens. But how can we always have fresh parsley and store it properly? We’ll reveal the chefs’ secret.

How to Store Parsley

The first step is to  wash the parsley with water  . During this step, you will remove any leaves and branches that appear dry or damaged. After washing the parsley, spread it out to dry on a few sheets of paper towels.

Half fill a jar with water, preferably glass, as this material is better for preserving food. At this point, as if you were storing cut flowers,  place the parsley stems  in the jar. Then, cover the top with a plastic bag, the kind used for freezer storage. Secure the plastic bag with a rubber band that goes over the top of the jar.

Using scissors,  cut the two outer edges of the bag  to allow air to circulate. At this point, you can place the glass jar containing the parsley in the refrigerator. The ideal location, of course, is the one designated for bottles, on the inside door of the refrigerator.

If you don’t have enough space in the refrigerator, another way to make parsley last longer is to place it  already chopped in a glass jar  . Before closing the jar, place a sheet of paper towel between the lid and the opening. The jar can be placed in the refrigerator, preferably upside down.
