If you’re looking for a way to clean in the shortest possible time and using the fewest products possible, baking soda is the product for you.
Not only is it effective at cleaning and degreasing, it is also a true all-rounder that can be used to clean many different surfaces in our homes.
Clean glasses and cups
Frequent use of glasses and cups can cause them to turn yellow or become dull. This is caused both by drinks such as coffee or tea, and by the limescale present in the water we use daily to wash them.
Pour baking soda into glasses or cups, then add boiling water, being very careful not to burn yourself. Leave it to act for a few minutes, until the water cools, then rub well with a sponge and finally rinse.
Shiny cutlery
Over time, cutlery loses its shine, as do pots and pans. Baking soda can also help in this case and make them look like new again.
Mix 150 grams of baking soda with 100 ml of water, until you get a creamy consistency.
Apply the solution to the cutlery, leave to act for a few minutes, then rub well with a sponge and wash the cutlery with plenty of water.
Clean the toilet
There are many ways to clean the toilet, but the simplest is undoubtedly the combination of baking soda and lemon juice. This method will remove all the mold, limescale and other debris that has accumulated in the toilet, while eliminating bad odors and whitening the surface.
Mix 4 tablespoons of baking soda with the juice of one lemon. Once you have a homogeneous solution, apply it to the entire surface of the toilet, especially areas covered in dirt and mold.
Wait about 3 minutes, then use a toothbrush or sponge to clean thoroughly, removing the mold. Finally, flush the toilet and use a clean cloth to remove debris from the exterior surfaces of the toilet.
Removing stains from clothes
Baking soda is also very effective against stains on clothes. It can happen that we get stained by food, drinks or other things, and it is always important to act in time. If you do it with baking soda, you can solve the problem quickly.
Sprinkle baking soda on the stain you want to get rid of. Wait 10 minutes, then rub with a slightly damp sponge.
Finally, rinse the garment completely and let it dry. The stain will be gone.
Cleaning stainless steel
Almost every element in the kitchen is made of stainless steel, from the sink to the stovetop to the appliances. This material is very useful, but it is also prone to the accumulation of grease and food residue.
After cleaning the surface with a microfiber cloth to remove larger residues, spread 3 tablespoons of baking soda on it and scrub well with a toothbrush.
Wait a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water and a sponge and finally dry well with a microfiber cloth.
