Almost all the products we use for household cleaning are toxic and polluting, causing a lot of damage to our health and the environment.
By using natural, non-toxic, and biodegradable products, we can make highly effective natural bathroom cleaners at home. Making them is really simple, quick, and economical, and in this article, we’ll explain how.
Typical ingredients include: baking soda (cleans and eliminates odors); borax (cleans, deodorizes, and disinfects); natural soap; distilled white vinegar (removes grease, prevents mold, and kills bacteria); essential oils (for flavoring), and salt (disinfectant).
With these simple ingredients, you can create these DIY natural cleaners for the bathroom, but not only.
To clean tile or ceramic flooring: In a bottle, mix 2/3 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup liquid natural soap. Add half a glass of water and 2 tablespoons of vinegar. Mix well before use, then rinse with water.
Cleaning Powder: Mix 1 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of borax, and 1 cup of coarse salt. Rub this mixture onto the area to be cleaned, then rinse.
Toilet bowl cleaner: Mix 1/4 cup borax (or baking soda) and 1 cup vinegar. Pour directly onto the toilet and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse.
To clean windows: Mix 1/4 cup vinegar with 4 cups warm water in a spray bottle. Apply to the glass, then dry with a dry cloth.
To clean the drain: Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by 1 cup of vinegar. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then pour boiling water over it.
For the floor: Pour 1/2 cup of borax with 2 liters of hot water in a bucket. No need to rinse.
Natural descaler: Soak a cloth in vinegar and wrap it around the affected surfaces. Leave it on for a few hours, then remove it.
To remove mold: Mix 1/2 cup borax and 1/2 cup white vinegar until it forms a paste. Scrub with a toothbrush. Let it sit for about an hour before rinsing thoroughly with water.
