Limescale is a type of dirt that, if left unchecked , can take over.
Very often it hides in places you wouldn’t even imagine, think of the area behind the toilet or in the holes in the shower head.
However, there are other elements that must not escape our control. I’m talking about faucet filters! Today we’re going to see together how to free them using the bag method!
Necessary
Let’s first see what it takes to continue with our effective and fast remedy!
In detail you will need:
Water to taste
1 plastic bag (the one for food will work well, it must be quite rigid)
1 elastic band
These are the elements that will make your faucet filters look like new and free of dirt and limescale!
Inside the bag, in addition to water, you will need to put a natural ingredient that can act by removing stains and cleaning everything.
Below, therefore, I will bring you all the most effective remedies that help to counteract the appearance of limescale and will restore the shine of the tap to use in the bag!
With citric acid
The first way to use the bag method is definitely citric acid!
This product is renowned for its anti-limescale power and it is no coincidence that it is also used to clean the shower or the entire bathroom in general.
All you have to do is dissolve 150 grams of citric acid in 1 liter of water until you get a unique solution.
Next, fill the plastic bag with the solution up to half, secure it near the tap with a rubber band, making sure that the filter is completely submerged in the liquid compound.
Wait a few hours, then remove the bag and you’re done!
Lemon juice
Besides citric acid, lemon is also a great solution for getting rid of limescale!
You will need to follow the procedure described above, but inside the bag with water you will need to put the juice of 2 lemons.
Always tie the bag securely, ensuring the filter is in the water and lemon solution, and leave for at least 4 hours.
Then remove the bag and remove any remaining dirt with a sponge.
white vinegar
White vinegar was a must-have, a perfect remedy against limescale!
Always fill the bag with lukewarm water and pour 1.5 glasses of vinegar inside , then always attach it to the tap.
Wait about 3 hours, then you can remove and enjoy the fantastic result with the filter completely clean!
Did you know? A very similar method is also used to clean the shower head!
Sodium bicarbonate
As a last resort, let’s use baking soda , Grandma’s timeless trick!
3 tablespoons of this natural element in the sachet with warm water will be enough to obtain a fantastic result.
It will be necessary to leave it to act for 3/4 hours so that the abrasive action of the baking soda can remove all the limescale.
When removing the bag, rinse thoroughly and wipe with a microfiber cloth.
Warnings
I remind you to use the remedies described above in a hidden corner to ensure you do not damage or stain the items.
