Easiest Vegetables to Grow in Pots for Beginners

Growing fresh vegetables and fruits on a balcony is very possible, even for beginners in the gardening field. You can, of course, grow them in pots or planters; these plants will produce healthy and tasty food, but also very beautiful to see with their different colors…

It needs plenty of sun, so it’ll need to be sown in spring. It will need a large planter, as beetroot needs space. Add plenty of compost and manure. Beetroot seeds aren’t very small, so don’t place them too close together. Water thoroughly!

You can grow melons in pots. Simply start in May and pinch out the main stems. Once the fruit begins to appear, cut the stems back beyond the fourth fruit. This will ensure you have beautiful melons!

Peas

The best pea variety for growing in pots is wrinkled peas. Choose metal or plastic pots, as they retain moisture better. Once the plants are about 20 centimeters tall, work the potting soil up the stem to encourage new roots. Peas love the sun. You can harvest 3 to 4 months after sowing.
