How to Propagate Pothos from a Single Leaf

The pothos is undoubtedly one of the most famous and appreciated indoor plants in the world. What makes it so captivating, besides its intense green color and tropical shapes, is also its extraordinary resistance.

This wonderful plant has heart-shaped leaves that make it unique, and being a climbing plant, it can be placed practically anywhere: it will adapt to any situation.

Besides being beautiful, what fascinates most about this plant is the ease with which it can be reproduced, even from a single leaf .

To reproduce the pothos you need, in addition to the plant, pruning shears, a glass vase and filtered water.

Start by cutting a small stem from your pothos. Do this diagonally and immediately after a node. If possible, cut two leaves to simplify the propagation process.

If any of the leaves are close to the node, we suggest removing it, otherwise it will rot when placed in water.

Fill the glass jar halfway with water, then we put our cup in it. Remember to change the water at least 2 times a week.

When the first roots form, the plant will be ready to be planted in the ground.

Basic Pothos Care

Pothos do not need a lot of water. Water it twice a week, making sure not to create waterlogging. The pot should be well-drained.
Do not expose the plant to direct sunlight, as this may burn the leaves. The plant needs light, but indirect.
Wipe the pothos leaves occasionally with a damp cotton ball. Dusting the leaf surface will promote photosynthesis.
