Initially, the results perfectly meet our expectations, but after a series of washes, although it may seem absurd, it is not uncommon to find that in reality, the floor is not so clean. The fact that the floor isn’t perfectly clean after washing doesn’t depend so much on our skill level in housework, but on the lack of attention we sometimes pay to the objects we use to clean. With each new use, the “mop” accumulates more and more dirt , germs and bacteria between its bristles. It is up to us, before washing the floor, to make sure that the cloth is clean and in good condition , in the same way that, before cooking, we check that the utensils are perfectly clean.
In case the “mop” turns out to be too dirty, before proceeding with its possible replacement, it is worth trying to clean it. This can be done through the use of an ingredient that, in general, is never lacking in the pantry: sodium bicarbonate .
How to clean the cloth used to wash floors
Gone are the days when the true usefulness of baking soda was unknown. Today, in fact, it is used in many ways: from a leavening agent in sweets to a key ingredient in homemade remedies for cleaning the house. Here too, baking soda can be very useful, thanks to its natural stain-removing, sanitizing, and odor-fighting properties .

To clean the mop we use to wash the floors, we simply need to soak it for about two or three hours in a solution of hot water and two tablespoons of bicarbonate dissolved in it.
After the necessary time, not only will that terrible smell of dirt and dust no longer come from the hairs, but all the residues of germs and bacteria accumulated inside them will have been eradicated . In addition, this remedy does not involve any use of time: while waiting for the bicarbonate to run its course, in fact, we can easily carry out other activities.
