Sugar can be used for both the plants on your patio and garden, as well as the cut flowers you received for your birthday. Below, we’ll explain how to best use it.

How to use it?
To make cut flowers last, there’s a little trick: add sugar to the water in your bouquet’s vase. A single lump of sugar can be enough to make them last much longer. There’s no special sugar, just regular cooking sugar.

The flowers can last for more than three days. Of course, it’s not necessary to add sugar, but just the right amount: a piece or a teaspoon.

Sugar can also be used to water patio plants. Simply add it to the watering can to make their leaves bright and vibrant again, without using chemicals. Repeat this process once a month to make the stems stronger as well.

In addition to water, sugar can be used as a fertilizer, sprayed on the soil. To obtain a real compost, you can put 4 kg of black sugar in 4 kg of soil and mix until homogeneous, adding water.

To adjust, consider that one sachet, the size of a standard bar, should be dissolved in approximately five liters of water. Sugar and glucose are essential for plants. They consume a lot of them, especially during the flowering period.

Common sense should prevail, however. Excess sugar, in fact, could only accelerate the proliferation of certain bacteria or parasites that are antagonistic to the plants you water.
